Language

The Language Department provides language training to new immigrants, convention refugees, refugee claimants, citizens, members of ethno-specific communities, parents, caregivers, children and youths. We assist new immigrants and their families in adjusting to the Canadian culture and environment through ESL & LINC classes, Citizenship preparation class, Youth Tutorial Program and Summer Academic Camps.

LINC Classes
This program, funded by the Citizenship & Immigration Canada, helps new immigrants and conventional refugees with language acquisition and introduces them to Canadian culture. The classes are taught by qualified instructors with computer assisted language training and class trips.

Part-time ( Bilingual & Unilingual ) and Full-time ( Unilingual ) classes are available Monday to Friday and Sundays, ranging from Levels Literacy – 5. We also provide free childcare service on Full-time & Part-time classes ( Weekdays ) and TTC subsidies for Full-time and Part-time LINC students if eligible.

ESL & Citizenship Classes
These programs are co-sponsored with the Toronto District School Board. The classes vary in levels from 1 to 3 and run Mondays to Fridays and also Sundays. Only Part-time classes are available and most of the instructors are bilingual.

The Youth Tutorial Program
This after-school program provides English and Math tutorial classes for students Grades 1 to 6. Students will have the opportunity to develop and improve their language and mathematical skills through challenging lessons, exercises and homework assistance.

The Summer Academic Camp
This program allows children ages 6 to 13 to enjoy and study language arts, math and computer, music and arts, sports and swim lessons during the summer time. Children will learn to develop their social and leadership skills through the experience of the camp-setting.
